We can save you a lot of time and energy when it comes to registering or transferring your domain name. We will liaise with the Internet Names registrar and look after the entire delegation process. This includes domain name and mail exchange delegation to Depot IT.

The registration/transfer fee also covers you for domain name hosting services for the period of the registration. Should you need to make any changes to your domain name records, we will ensure they are made quickly and with a minimum of fuss.

Web, Secure Web and FTP Site Hosting

A hosted site will provide you with a permanent Internet presence for your business that will advertise your products and services to a worldwide audience and enhance the professional image projected by your business.
Depot IT's hosting services include:

  • configuration and maintenance of your site on a Depot IT server.  Depot IT's servers are housed in network server, rack cabinets with the added security of a Back to Base Alarm System on the premises. The racks are run on un-interruptible power supplies and are climate controlled 24x7 with reverse-cycle air-conditioning, providing ideal environmental conditions for hosting equipment;

  • technical staff are on-call 24x7.  Network performance is monitored and trend analysis performed ensuring average network utilisation does not exceed more than 40%;

  • 2Mb Connection to the Internet

SSL Certificates (Secure Sockets Layer)


Purchasing an SSL Certificate for your web site will turn it into a point of sale by allowing you to securely accept credit card details and orders over the Internet. SSL verifies who you are and protects all communications with your customers, so you can also protect sensitive personal information and ensure that hackers cannot detect your passwords.

We supply SSL Certificates from Thawte. A Thawte SSL Certificate entitles you to display the Thawte Authentic Site Seal on your site. Displaying the Thawte Authentic Site Seal will maximize your business making your customers feel more comfortable about passing sensitive information to your web site.

When your customers click on your Thawte Authentic Site Seal they will get real-time confirmation of the validity of your Thawte Certificate, and of the ownership of the domain for which you have purchased the certificate.

Email Hosting

Email hosting includes 10 email addresses. Email accounts can be managed via an account management interface which includes features such as auto forwarding and auto reply.

Depot IT will also provide a secondary mail server facility. This means Depot IT servers will store any email en-route to a customer's domain if the primary mail server is experiencing problems.

Co-location Services

You can get peace of mind while freeing up some space in your office by re-locating your equipment to Depot IT.

Your equipment will be installed in lockable network server, rack cabinets. The monthly maintenance includes allowance for one server and includes 1RU of rack spaceone 10/100MB ethernet port, and one 240V power outlet on UPS power.

  • Data Transfer Rate - $0.05/MB

  • Additional 10/100MB Ethernet Port - $10.00 per month

  • Additional Server Co-location - installation $250.00, maintenance $50.00 per server per month includes 1RU of rack space, one 10/100MB Ethernet Port and one 240V power outlet on UPS power.

Rack units are leased at a base rate of $30.00 per month and additional rack space charges are below. For comparison purposes, mini-tower style PC cases are approximately 10 RU high.

1RU Rack mount Server Rental

Servers are available for rent in conjunction with co-location. The minimum contract term is twelve (12) months.

The typical server configuration is a P4-2.8GHz Hyper-Threading Processor, 512MB RAM, Mirrored (RAID 1) Disk Array - 80 Gb Capacity, Floppy Disk and CD-ROM drive.

Other Charges:

  • Cancellation of Service within twelve (12) months will incur an additional charge for the balance of the contract

  • Security Hardened Red Hat Linux installation - $500.00

Notes on Co-location Services:

Network

  • Depot IT network is visible on the Internet as an autonomous system.

  • Uplinks are completely independent such that problems with one provider can be worked around.

  • Uplinks are configured for automatic fail over to minimise any downtime due to outages.

  • Depot IT provides a minimum uptime guarantee of 99.9% network availability.

  • Service uptime and utilisation are recorded and graphical reports are available.

  • Backup and recovery of co-located systems is the responsibility of the customer.

Environmental / Power / Security

  • Locked network server, rack cabinets with forced ventilation.

  • UPS Power is supplied from double conversion online un-interruptible power supplies.

  • Temperature Control via 24x7 reverse-cycle air-conditioning - room temperature maintained to 21°C 1°C).

  • Humidity Control targets 43% to 57%.

  • Operations room armed with Back to Base Alarm System.

Maintenance

  • Maintenance work may result in services being temporarily unavailable.

  • Maintenance work will generally be performed outside normal business hours (8am - 6pm Monday to Friday).

  • Customers will be notified in advance of planned maintenance.

Onsite Access

  • Should consultation be required staff are available 24 x 7 per our standard rates.

  • Onsite access to the hosting facilities is welcome and access fees are as follows:
